Retread Benefits

What do you do with a tire that can no longer be used because of excessive tread wear? Rather than throw the tire in a landfill or garbage dump, the tire can be remanufactured into a useful, safe and road worthy tire. This tire is called a retread.

Seaport Tire has one the most up to date retread plants in the Long Beach area. We have a strong commitment to American made, high quality products. This is why we are proud to be a certified Elite License Retreader for Oliver Rubber Company of Asheboro, North Carolina. Oliver Rubber, founded in 1912, is one of the premier retread systems in the United States. Oliver provides not only retread raw materials but state of the art equipment as well as technical support for its Elite dealer like Seaport Tire.

Not only do our customers lower their operating cost, retreading also has a significant impact on the ecology. We process approximately 80 thousand unusable tires per year. This means there a fewer tires to be disposed of in our landfills. Also, we can reduce our nation’s demand for crude oil. For example, a new truck tire requires approximately 22 gallons of oil to manufacture, whereas an average recap will need only 7 gallons.

We are proud of what we do here at Seaport Tire. Thank you for visiting our web site and should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.
